In Travel Retail, beauty demand starts long before passengers get to the terminal. At the ASUTIL Conference in Punta Cana, the leading annual event for the duty-free and travel retail industry in Latin America, Diego Artola, Coty VP and Head of Travel Retail Americas made the case for rethinking how beauty is discovered, considered, and converted in a social-first world. "The store converts intent; it no longer creates it,” he shared. Diego pointed to campaigns for Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild, Chloé's refillable travel spray, and Kylie Cosmetics as proof that influencer-led demand-creation before travel translates directly to conversion at the point of sale.
