We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Janet L. Jones to Director of Enterprise Agility! Since joining Costco in 2021, Janet has transitioned from a COBOL/CICS programmer to a passionate Agile advocate, now leading our team of Agile Coaches and Scrum Masters. Her journey at Costco has been one of significant growth, evolving from leading specific areas to shaping how we deliver value across the entire enterprise. Janet shares that the biggest surprise of her journey has been the sheer depth of Costco’s culture, where the loyalty and dedication of her colleagues create an inspiring environment for meaningful impact every day. This culture of connection has reinforced her leadership philosophy: the best outcomes are born from collaboration, active listening, and creating the conditions where people can do their best work together. Beyond her professional achievements and her current pursuit of a PhD in Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University, Janet’s life is anchored by her family and her community in Western Washington. When she isn't transforming our enterprise workflows or studying, she spends her time with her husband of 41 years, Kurt, their daughter, Kristiann, and their two cats, Mojo and Lily. She is also deeply committed to elder care for her father, Harold, and her friend, Mary-Alyce. Reflecting on her long career in IT, Janet’s advice to her younger self is to trust the journey, stay curious, and prioritize building strong relationships. Whether she's hitting the golf course or stocking up on her Costco favorites - like tenderloin steaks, pre-cooked bacon, and blueberries. Janet brings a spirit of excellence and heart to everything she does.
