We are kicking off June by sharing some of the incredible talent and diverse voices that make our team so strong. Meet Erinn Seumae, Point of Sale (POS) Support Analyst 3! Erinn’s 33-year journey with Costco is a powerful story of dedication, deep-rooted family values, and resilience. Erinn joined Costco in April 1993 as a teenage mother looking to provide for her 8-month-old daughter. Starting as a caller at the Kirkland warehouse, she spent over a decade mastering roles across nearly every department. By 2006, she transitioned to Corporate, eventually joining the POS team in 2011. Using her deep institutional knowledge, Erinn turned a "special task" into a vital, full-time position. By auditing vendor charges and disputing out-of-scope equipment fees, she has saved Costco over two million dollars. Now celebrating 33 years with the company, Erinn enjoys a beautiful full-circle moment: “I’ve had the privilege to work side-by-side with my firstborn for a while, and I get to watch my second-born thrive on the buying side as well.” Deep Roots & Family Foundations Born and raised in Washington, Erinn’s roots trace back to Seattle and Pago Pago, American Samoa. When asked how her heritage shaped her, she emphasizes the power of community. “Coming from a massively large Samoan family, family and foundation are everything to me. As a mother of three and a Nana of one, who I am to those souls is the most important role I’ve been blessed with.” Growth, Resilience, and Legacy Erinn’s 33-year journey is a profound story of resilience and self-reflection. “I have been many different versions of myself in this one lifetime, and each one was absolutely necessary,” she shares. “Times have been filled with struggles, addiction, recovery, healing, and triumphant victories. I started at Costco as a child, and I have grown into a woman, mother, and Nana who I truly love today. I will not be remembered just for what I did here, but for who I became in the process. It is never about the fall; it is about what you do with it, and the comeback story.” Finding Inspiration Everywhere When it comes to role models, Erinn views everyone she meets as a teacher, but notes that her children and grandson remain her biggest motivators to constantly evolve. “Even when I felt like giving up during some of the darkest times of my life, Costco provided, and I did the work,” Erinn reflects. “I stayed because I had children to raise on my own. I didn’t expect to spend 33 years here, but Costco is my second family, and as a lifer, it always will be.” #Costco #CostcoIT #Employeespotlight
