🔹 #𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗖𝗢𝗦: Introducing the Program Group Communication, Organizations & Society at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) 🥳 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴?  Our colleague Christel van Eck and Gerard van Eck were awarded funding for their proposal “𝘔𝘪𝘫𝘯 𝘞𝘦𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘵 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘵𝘦: 𝘈 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘥 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯-𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯” by the NWO (Dutch Research Council) within the call Transformative Practices to Climate Transitions!  🎓 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁?  In the #heat #transition, discussions often focus on #technology and costs. Yet in practice, residents also encounter doubts, emotions, and questions of #justice and #fairness. With 𝘔𝘪𝘫𝘯 𝘞𝘦𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘵 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘵𝘦, Christel and Gerard will help residents make these considerations visible, supporting them in making choices that genuinely fit their lives and values. 🌍 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲?  Building on an earlier pilot study, Christel and Gerard will further develop an innovative method building on a face-to-face dialogical interview to help residents reflect on their considerations that shape their decision-making in the transition to sustainable heating. It rests on the idea that transitions are not linear, and involve more than financial and technological considerations, like experienced #injustice or #uncertainty. The method will be developed and validated in several neighborhoods in the city of Amersfoort, in close collaboration with the Gemeente Amersfoort and other societal partners. The project method will later be disseminated and scaled across the Netherlands. 💬 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀?   𝘔𝘪𝘫𝘯 𝘞𝘦𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘵 𝘞𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘵𝘦 will produce deeper insights into people’ struggles in their #transition to sustainable heating.
