Day 1 at the Single Domain Antibody Conference in Utrecht What a great start to the week! Together with part of our senior scientist team at @Cortalix, we enjoyed a fantastic first day filled with inspiring presentations. We heard about the growing impact of #nanobodies in many fields, from #PETimaging and #targetedradiotherapy, to #CARTimmunotherapy with its exciting variations such as #TcellEngagers, and advances in #bioanalytics such as highly sensitive #lateralflowassays. Science was not the only focus: there was also room to reflect on the #business aspects of this rapidly expanding field. A highlight was the keynote by @Edwin Moses, former CEO of @Ablynx, who shared the remarkable journey of the first company to bring nanobodies to the clinic. His talk captured the challenges every biotech #startup will recognize, the valuable lessons learned along the way, and the simple but crucial truth: without funding there is no company, and without companies there are no new medicines.
