Today, electricity flows between countries through interconnectors. When the grid becomes congested, Transmission System Operators (TSOs) often need to take costly measures, such as adjusting generation or limiting flows, to keep the system secure. At Coreso, together with our TSO shareholders, we have explored a smarter alternative. ย  By simultaneously adjusting electricity flows on several HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) interconnectors, onshore congestion can be relieved. And this: โœ… without changing the overall energy exchange between countries, โœ… and without affecting any generator. ย  In November, we demonstrated that this coordination can be carried out safely and precisely between TSO-RCC control rooms.
