"I learned many things – proper tapping techniques, making organic fertilizer, grafting and financial management." 💬 These are the words of a smallholder farmer from Indonesia's Kapuas Hulu district on Borneo. Since 2018, our partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has provided training in responsible natural rubber cultivation to around 5,000 farmers across the region. Natural rubber is a key raw material for our tires, and around 85% of the world’s natural rubber is produced by smallholder farmers.
