A vehicle built from yesterday's resources, collecting tomorrow's. Sounds like science fiction? This could soon become reality, as the reEconic concept shows. Together with Daimler Truck AG FAUN Group , TSR Group GmbH & Co. KG/ REMONDIS-Gruppe and 33 other partners, we helped develop a battery-electric waste collection truck made from recycled, renewable and bio-based materials – replacing around 80% of conventionally produced materials. To get this truck rolling, we supplied the WASTEMASTER 5 retread tire from Bandvulc, a Continental brand. Retreading gives used tire carcasses a second life through a professional refurbishment process, instead of discarding them. After its first retread, such a tire contains over 80% recycled and renewable components by weight. It's a good example of how retreading extends a tire’s life cycle while reducing resource consumption. The reEconic will be unveiled on May 4 at IFAT worldwide in Munich, Germany. Come see circularity in action. Copyright: Daimler Truck AG
