At London Climate Action Week 2026, CATL and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation announced two major initiatives to translate circularity commitments into industry-wide action: a business coalition for circular business models and circular battery design guidelines, both aimed at advancing circularity across the battery value chain. Speaking at the Climate Innovation Forum, Jiang Li, Vice President and Board Secretary of CATL, said: “The future energy economy will be defined not by how efficiently we extract materials, but by how long we keep them in circulation.” CATL also shared its latest progress in sodium-ion batteries. The dedicated sodium-ion production line is expected to achieve GWh-scale production this year, with first deliveries scheduled for September. The company has also secured the world’s largest sodium-ion battery order, totalling 60 GWh. As battery circularity moves from ambition to action, CATL continues to work with global partners to build a more sustainable and resilient energy future. #CATL #GECC #LCAW2026 #LondonClimateActionWeek #CircularEconomy
