For a good start, meet the Principal Investigator: 🇬🇧 Mauro Arturo Rivera León is a comparative constitutional scholar with a law degree from the University of Sonora (Mexico), a Master’s and PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), and a habilitation in law from the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland). He has been a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg (2014, 2015, 2024), the Perelman Centre for Legal Philosophy at the Université libre de Bruxelles, and the University of Silesia (2019).    His research in constitutional courts is grounded in extensive institutional experience, including a fellowship at the Spanish Constitutional Court (2012–2013), and subsequent roles as junior law clerk, advisor, and senior law clerk at both the Federal Electoral Court and the Supreme Court of Mexico. Since 2021, he has been an Assistant Professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice, where he leads a five-member Research team with the project "Constitutional Zugzwang: Towards an Amendment Theory on Constitutional Momentum", funded by the Polish National Science Centre. His most recent monograph "Supermajorities in Constitutional Courts" (Routledge, 2024) was awarded the 2024 Best Book of the Year Award by the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism. –––––– 🇵🇱 Mauro Arturo Rivera León to badacz zajmujący się prawem konstytucyjnym porównawczym, który ukończył: Uniwersytet w Sonorze (Meksyk; lic.) i Uniwersytet Complutense w Madrycie (Hiszpania; magisterium i doktorat). Zdobył też stopień naukowy doktora habilitowanego na Uniwersytecie Śląskim w Katowicach (Polska). W swojej karierze wizytował również: Instytut Maxa Plancka ds. Porównawczego Prawa Publicznego i Prawa Międzynarodowego w Heidelbergu (2014, 2015, 2024), Centrum Filozofii Prawa im. Perelmana na Université libre de Bruxelles oraz Uniwersytet Śląski (2019). Jego badania nad sądami konstytucyjnymi opierają się na bogatym doświadczeniu instytucjonalnym, w tym na stypendium w hiszpańskim Trybunale Konstytucyjnym (2012–2013) oraz pełnieniu funkcji młodszego referendarza, doradcy i starszego referendarza zarówno w Federalnym Sądzie Wyborczym, jak i Sądzie Najwyższym Meksyku. Od 2021 r. jest adiunktem na Uniwersytecie Śląskim w Katowicach, gdzie kieruje pięcioosobowym zespołem badawczym realizującym projekt „Konstytucyjny Zugzwang: W kierunku teorii zmiany momentum konstytucyjnego”, który jest finansowany przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki. Jego najnowsza monografia, „Supermajorities in Constitutional Courts” (Routledge, 2024), otrzymała nagrodę dla najlepszej książki roku 2024, przyznawaną przez Międzynarodowe Forum na temat Przyszłości Konstytucjonalizmu.
