From structural challenges to sustainable upgrades, our recent work at the Mablethorpe Environment Agency Depot for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is a great example of modern workspace transformation. We completely remodelled the interior of this highly operational facility, but the real success lay in overcoming early hurdles and boosting energy efficiency. Key achievements on this seven-month project included: - Overcoming Structural Hurdles: Collaborating with McAndrew Martin Ltd to swiftly redesign and replace an unsafe upper floor structure with minimal disruption. - Boosting Sustainability: Installing an energy-efficient air source heat pump system alongside high-specification wall and floor insulation. - Maximising Space & Security: Creating a new mezzanine meeting room with skylights, adding a commercial kitchen, and installing automated entry gates and steel security doors. We achieved all of this while keeping the depot fully functional, using a dedicated site compound and temporary accommodation to support the Environment Agency staff.
