The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) has published a consultation on its minded‑to decision for Interim Electricity Network Charges for Energy Storage, which would replace the 2020 interim decision ahead of the wider review of electricity network tariffs. The CRU expects the proposals to deliver net benefits for customers by supporting lower electricity prices over time, enabling greater integration of renewable energy, strengthening incentives to locate storage efficiently on the network, and supporting increased investment in energy storage to provide system services.
