Last week at the Energy Ireland Conference, Fergal Mulligan, Chairperson of CRU and Dr. Tanya Harrington, CRU Commissioner and SEM Committee Member, shared CRU’s perspective on what’s needed to deliver Ireland’s energy transition. Fergal highlighted the urgency of accelerating critical energy and water infrastructure. From strengthening energy security and resilience to advancing renewables, interconnection and the Critical Infrastructure Bill. Tanya set out the SEM Committee’s strategic direction, focusing on how market design, investment signals and cross-border coordination will support decarbonisation, security of supply and consumer protection. The message was clear across both sessions. Delivering the transition will depend on strong coordination across government, regulators, industry and communities.
