At Columbia Sportswear Company, wellbeing isn’t just a benefit — it’s something we actively encourage employees to explore in ways that truly matter to them. That’s why in 2023, we launched the myWellbeing reimbursement program, available to eligible US employees, to make wellness in its many forms, more accessible. Kayla Norberg, Retail Manager, used her myWellbeing reimbursement to spend a weekend in a remote fire lookout. With no screens, no noise, and nothing but nature around her, she described it as “one of the most grounding experiences I’ve had in a long time.” Kayla shared that disconnecting helped her reconnect — with herself, with the present moment, and with what energizes her. She returned to work feeling refreshed, recharged, and reminded of the importance of taking time to pause. What made the experience even more meaningful? She was able to do it through her myWellbeing credit, a program designed to support employees in whatever wellness looks like for them — whether that’s hiking, playing an instrument, swimming laps, or anything in between.
