Delighted to contribute to the latest edition of the Urban Design Journal alongside a brilliant collection of authors covering topics ranging from social infrastructure and population change to public engagement and placemaking. My article explores how the pandemic accelerated a renewed focus on health, wellbeing and access to nature, and what this means for the future of Ireland's towns and cities. From outdoor dining and greenways to pedestrianised streets and active travel, our expectations of urban life have changed.
