Shining a light on the women’s health gap in bladder care 🔦 Across the world, women spend significantly more years in poor health than men¹. One area where this difference appears clearly is bladder health. An area often overlooked, yet central to women’s dignity, comfort and daily confidence. At Coloplast, we have worked to close this gap for more than two decades. For women living with urinary retention, the bladder cannot empty on its own, and intermittent catheters become an essential part of daily life. Since introducing the world’s first compact catheter for women in 2004, we’ve continued to learn from women and clinicians about the realities of managing urinary retention. The insights we gain from the people who rely on our products shape how we develop and design our intermittent catheters today. Recently, we have shared our insights in a publication on Women’s Health by Healthcare Denmark, highlighting why gender-sensitive catheter innovation must reflect female anatomy and lived routines. Take a look at these facts about women’s health 👇 This year’s theme for International Women' Day, “Give to Gain,” is a reminder that meaningful progress comes from listening and cocreating solutions. When women’s needs are reflected in healthcare design, women gain better health, and society gains stronger participation, healthier years and greater equality.
