“Show who you are!” Berlingske, one of Denmark's leading newspapers, selects the 100 most promising talents across Danish society each year. This year, two of them work at Coloplast – and one is Simon Moimini Jørgensen. Simon's father arrived in Denmark as a Kurdish-Iranian refugee in 1985. He raised his son with a simple message: be true to yourself and show who you are. Others may see you as a stranger, but you know who you are – show it. Before joining Coloplast in his early twenties, Simon was already ghostwriting speeches for executives and building public affairs strategies in the US - learning fast and finding his footing in complex environments. At Coloplast, he has carried that with him ever since. In Japan, he has brought together clinical experts, the national ostomy association and the Vice Minister of Health around a shared goal - improving conditions for ostomy patients in a complex system. It has resulted in a joint Danish-Japanese position paper and an ongoing partnership. Today, at 27, Simon is one of Coloplast's youngest ever Government Affairs Managers - and someone who uses his background and political instinct to create real change for patients: "My father taught me that you cannot choose how others see you - but you can choose what you show. That is probably the driving force behind everything I do: to show who I am and use that to create better opportunities for the users who cannot speak up for themselves." Congratulations, Simon!
