⚠️ Bitcoin could be heading toward its biggest security upgrade yet. A new draft proposal, BIP-361, outlines a phased transition from legacy ECDSA and Schnorr signatures to post-quantum cryptography. The proposal would block new BTC from being sent to quantum-vulnerable addresses before eventually phasing out legacy signatures after a multi-year transition. It's still only a draft, but it shows the Bitcoin community is actively preparing for a post-quantum future.
