One of the most meaningful parts of visiting Derry has been learning about the role women played throughout Ireland’s long struggle for self-determination. This mural tells stories of courage, community, and resistance, from neighbors protecting one another during raids to women organizing in solidarity with prisoners and preserving the memory of those who lost their lives. History comes alive when you hear it from the people who lived it.
