We had some very special guests this week! Ria and Elly, both born in bunkers in Hoek van Holland were interviewed by huub Stapel for the upcoming program ‘Langs de Kust’ from Omroep MAX Ria and Elly told all about growing up in the 50’s in bunkers that we’re even named after them. Elly: “My dad bought the bunker for only 150 gulden and we made the very best of it.” Ria: “We even had some cows on the roof which we could hear walking on top of us. A scary but fun thing! And to use the toilet or get water you had to go outside.
