CNSI member Dr. Nasim Annabi, associate professor at UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, has received nearly $2.5 million from The National Institutes of Health funding to advance regenerative biomaterials for corneal repair and chronic wound healing 🔬🩹 Her research team is developing innovative bioadhesive hydrogels designed to deliver stem cells for corneal tissue regeneration and next-generation wound dressings that actively promote healing while reducing inflammation. These projects have the potential to improve treatment outcomes for patients with eye injuries and chronic wounds, advancing the future of regenerative medicine through biomaterials engineering.
