Within the EU SWITCH-Asia Programme, the Fiji Blue Fishing project shows how sustainable development can emerge from participatory processes rooted in local knowledge, collective learning and community engagement. The recent Living Lab activities carried out with the Ucunivanua Women's Club in Fiji highlight the transformative potential of co-design approaches. Starting from the women's own experiences, the process supported the identification of local challenges and opportunities, leading to the development of concrete project proposals for sustainable livelihoods linked to fisheries and marine resources. Beyond the business plans themselves, the initiative strengthened local capacities, collective decision-making and community ownership — key dimensions for building resilient and sustainable futures. A valuable example of how research, participation and local knowledge can work together to support inclusive blue economy pathways and the sustainable management of shared marine resources. #WeSwitch #circulareconomy #BlueEconomy #sustainability #participatoryprocesses #communityengagement SWITCH-Asia Official Sara Gabai Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR DSU - Dipartimento Scienze Umane e Sociali, Patrimonio Culturale #Cnr_Iriss Paolo Landri Gabriella Esposito Valeria Catanese #LMMA Alifereti Tawake Metellia Servizi Srl #AMPPuntaCampanella #NuovaUlixesCooperativa Antonio Pone Lorenzo Lodato Open Plan Consulting Massimo Gacci manrico benelli Negroni Gianluigi
