Last night members of the Medical Research Council Centre for Medical Mycology (MRC CMM), University of Exeter attended Lifeline Musical at Southwark Playhouse, an innovative performance that brings the story of Alexander Fleming and a contemporary narrative about antimicrobial resistance (AMR) together. Alongside a professional cast, this powerful musical features a revolving cast of real-life nurses, doctors, vets, dentists and scientists. With support from FAILSAFE and GAMRIF, fungal AMR was embedded in the script and a fungal Q&A was held last night after the show. Ange Brennan and Seána Duggan discussed fungal infections, fungal AMR and the challenges facing researchers, medical professionals and patients across the world. There were fantastic, thought-provoking questions from the audience resulting in engaging discussion. Thank you to the amazing cast, crew, funders and organisers for this amazing event! #FAILSAFE #AMR #AntimicrobialResistance #Fungi #FungalInfections #Collaboration
