The smarter E Europe may have wrapped up a week ago, but the vibes are still vibing. ✨ For one week each year, Munich becomes a summer camp for the global solar industry. We’re setting up booths together. Hauling merch together. Eating dorm-style food together (or, as was the case in the sweltering Messe heat this year, chugging bottles of water together). You can’t walk down a hallway without bumping into 3,4,5 fellow solar (and increasingly energy storage) travellers. You’re having back-to-back-to-back meetings and conversations. Searching for meeting rooms, or far-flung booth numbers. And you’re dancing to songs at booth parties that you’d forgotten you know all the words to. You’re so exhausted by the end of the day, that all you can do is faceplant into your hotel-room bed. And then wake up in a daze, only do it all over again. By the end of the week, you’ve walked so many tens of thousands of steps; you’re questioning your choice of footwear. You’ve become overloaded with information, passed on by connections new and old, and are fully updated on the technology trends set to define the next stage of clean tech expansion. But when the booths are being torn down, the merch packed up, and the people rolling their suitcases home – you have to admit, you’re a little sad it’s all over. Because even with all the stress and effort, the late nights and endless planning, the weekends in which a few hours preparation must be squeezed – there’s nothing like that week of summer camp. And now you have to wait a whole year for it to return. To try and capture the feeling, Climate Copy put together a reel of some of our favourite moments from the week.
