Kara Powder, an associate professor of biological sciences, has received a Governor’s Award for her BeakerBox program. BeakerBox engages students in grades six through eight in the life sciences with ready-to-use science lessons and in-class resources for teachers. The program provides middle school classrooms with grade-appropriate, inquiry-based activities that meet state education standards.
