Stepped out of my comfort zone last week—and I’m glad I did. I went to see a coworker play in a local band, and it reminded me how much I used to enjoy live music. When my wife and I lived in Kansas City, seeing live shows was something we did all the time. Since moving to Des Moines in 2019, I realized I haven’t really gotten back into that scene—and it’s something I’ve missed more than I thought. It was a great reminder that sometimes the best experiences come from saying “yes” to something a little outside your routine.
