In it, he discusses Europe's specialty chemicals sector and the reasons it continues to demonstrate resilience in challenging times. Conrad highlights three structural factors that set the segment apart: 🟢 Specialty chemicals compete on value rather than volume, making them significantly harder to replicate or replace. 🟢 Their deep integration into customer processes creates stable demand and sustained pricing power. 🟢 With energy representing only around 5% of revenue, the sector is far less exposed to Europe's high energy costs than upstream producers. Conrad also underlines the sector's responsibility to drive sustainability innovation and calls on EU policymakers to put in place concrete measures that keep Europe an attractive location for industrial investment.
