Everything is communication. Founder at The Static - monthly print newspaper for the creative industries: advertising, media, design - and the lives that go around them.

Obviously, it was important that The Static looked amazing - and so for our design, we worked someone who has exceptional experience in tabloid print: Phoebe Willison. Phoebe is based in Glasgow, and is the designer of The Skinny - the biggest independent arts and culture listings magazine in Scotland. Think Time Out, but Scottish, and in newsprint. Her work for The Skinny, as well as for the Glasgow Print Fair caught my eye, and her in-depth knowledge of print, referencing everything from obscure Japanese film magazines, to classic print redesigns gave us visual frameworks to play with. She ran an exceptional workshop with our editorial team Omar Oakes ✈ Cannes Lions, Emily Gosling and Tom Banks and the resulting brand guidelines doc is so good, I use to to prep my own brain before speaking to the press. I cannot sing Phoebe's praises enough and if you ever want a print or editorial designer, she should 💯 be on your shortlist. Her front page design is our guiding force, and we love it.
