A court in Port Sudan has convicted and sentenced to death in absentia the leader of the Rapid Support Forces and 15 others on charges of war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and attacks on civilians and public facilities. But the culpability for these crimes extends to both sides of the civil war, now in its fourth year.
