As leaders, we called to take care of those in our charge. No better way was that illustrated today than by Tadej Pogagar of team UAE Emirates at stage 2 of the Tour de France. In the final meters, Tadej (defending TDF Champion) protected teammate Isaac del Torro from would be challengers, including the overall favorites. Once across the line, it was diffficult to tell who was more excited — Tadej or Isaac. Tadej lifted Isaac, who’s racing his first TDF, in celebration and to acknowledge his teammate, whose job is to support the team leader, Tadej.
