Cyber Essentials v3.3: 3 things you need to know 📅 If your organisation is planning to certify or renew this year, the 27 April deadline is worth putting in your diary. From that date, all new assessments move to the v3.3 standard and three areas in particular are changing in ways that affect most modern IT environments: 🔹 Cloud apps are fully in scope: if your team logs in with work credentials, it’s in scope. Every app, no exceptions 🔹 MFA is mandatory across the board: a single user or account without it is an automatic fail 🔹 Partial scoping is still allowed: you can limit what’s in scope, but you’ll need to prove your reasoning clearly. ✅ Certifying before 27 April means the current, simpler standard still applies – a cleaner process with less remediation work.
