Heading to FIFA Fan Festival™ this summer? Look out for one of our most dedicated staff members who’s been helping throw the party behind the scenes. Meet Tamara 👋, the passionate supervisor of Fort York National Historic Site. Tamara is a longtime City of Toronto employee whose career has been dedicated to creating unforgettable events and experiences. She has supported everything from the 2015 Pan Am Games to 2019 Raptors Championship Run and now is ready to welcome the world to FIFA Fan Festival™. Fort York is one of Canada’s most significant historic sites. More than just a gathering place for football fans, it is a site shaped by thousands of years of Indigenous history and culture, and the setting of pivotal events during the War of 1812 that helped shape the city and country we know today. As we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Month in June, it's an important reminder that the stories of this land extend far beyond the fort's walls and continue to be shared, honoured, and recognized today. When you’re at the festival, check out one of the free tours happening every day to learn a little about the ground you’re standing on. Join us this summer as Toronto comes together to celebrate the world's game in a place where history, culture, and community meet. ⚽️
