Founder of Revitalize, or Die., Jeff Siegler (aka “the Gordon Ramsey of civic pride”), visited the great city of Superior last week. During his visit, he completed a three-day civic assessment of our city to determine where our community can increase potential. His work focuses on simple--and often difficult--truths, offering actionable steps to enact change and build momentum in cities across the nation. What does this mean for Superior? Unsurprisingly, Siegler discovered incredible potential in our physical foundation and prideful community. Superior’s walkable neighborhoods, access to natural landscapes, and “strong bones” set us apart from many cities across the country. At the same time, he noted a key opportunity in our downtown, particularly the underutilized upper floors of existing buildings, which can support new housing, local businesses, and long-term economic growth. During his visit, Jeff Siegler toured the city with Mayor Paine, had lunch with councilors at the famous Anchor Bar, spoke at a City Council meeting, explored the natural scenes of Wisconsin Point, and had honest, productive conversations with business and property owners. Siegler states, “Revitalization has the power to transform people's lives by fostering a stronger sense of community, enhancing quality of life, and providing people more enriching experiences.” To learn more about Jeff Siegler's time in Superior, visit his Facebook page at Revitalize, or Die.
