Touchpoint Tuesday: Maintaining municipal infrastructure goes far beyond roads and utilities—it includes the strategic stewardship of our public green spaces. 🌿 From regional athletic hubs like the Bickle-Schmidt Sports Complex to major community assets like Frontier Park and the inclusive ARC Park, the City of Hays Parks Department manages hundreds of acres of recreational land year-round. Operations management always comes with environmental variables. Recently, our region has been fortunate to receive significant rainfall. While moisture is always an economic and environmental asset in Western Kansas, the resulting surge in vegetation growth has created an aggressive mowing and maintenance schedule. Our crews are working diligently, deploying maximum resources to manage this seasonal challenge effectively.
