Today marked a major milestone for the artist formally know as the Central Park Project, with the official Turning of the Sod and the public reveal of the precinct's new identity..... *drum roll please...* Karlup Journey Place!! This exciting project will transform the area around the elevated Armadale Station into a connected civic destination featuring Banksia Summit Park and Cockatoo Creek Park. Once complete, Karlup Journey Place will deliver regional-level play and recreation opportunities, youth spaces, water play, event areas, greener public spaces and improved city centre connections. This milestone has only been possible through strong collaboration between the City of Armadale, the Australian Government, the Government of Western Australia through METRONET, and Lotterywest, alongside extensive community input that has helped shape the project's vision. With construction now underway, we're looking forward to seeing Karlup Journey Place continue to take shape as a vibrant new civic heart for Armadale. A huge shout out to the legends that come and celebrated with us today Hugh Jones MLA Member for Darling Range, Dr Tony Buti MLA Attorney General; Minister for Commerce; Tertiary and International Education; Multicultural Interests, City of Armadale Mayor Ruth Butterfield, Hon Matt Keogh MP Member for Burt, Grant Trew of Lotterywest as well as our amazing staff and incredible community members 👏👏👏 Come See Us guuuuuuys!!
