Spending a few days at the Caravan and Camping Show 🚐👋 is always a good reset. We had the pleasure of settling into many good conversations about how people are actually choosing to travel and where places like the Perth Hills and surrounds fit into that. We spoke to a lot of nomads planning their next trip and most weren’t chasing anything over the top. They were simply looking for something easy. Something enjoyable, and somewhere close to nature. Somewhere that feels like a break, without needing a full itinerary or a long drive. With the cost of fuel and generally, the everyday cost of living creeping up, that idea of getting away a little closer to home is definitely front of mind for a lot of people at the moment. That’s exactly where Armadale and the Perth Hills quietly shine ✨🏞️ Come see us guuuuuys! Being at the show wasn’t really about “promoting” our gorgeous foothills in the traditional sense. It was more about having real conversations. Hearing what people already know about the area, what surprises them, and where there’s still a bit of a gap. A lot of people didn’t realise just how much is on offer so close to Perth. Others had been once years ago and were surprised by how much there is to come back for. It’s the combination of accessible trails, scenic lookouts, epic bushland trails, lush cidery's, restaurants and orchards and those slower, more relaxed experiences that feel genuinely different to everyday life. Big shout out to our Visitor Centre legends 🦸♀️ℹ️, together with Experience Perth Hills, who spent the weekend doing what they do best… having great chats, being generally delightful and knowledgeable about all things City of Armadale tourism, and sharing a bit of that local know how. Bit by bit, we’re shifting the dial, not just as somewhere you drive through, but somewhere you choose to spend time.
