πŸŽ‰ Next weekend we're set to celebrate 50 years of History House in Armadale 🎊 This celebration speaks to decades of volunteers, local advocates and community members who made sure our stories didn’t get lost along the way. History House started with the Armadale Kelmscott Historical Society back in the 70s (think disco flares, but in Armadale)! A group of people who saw value in preserving the everyday moments, not just the big headline ones... And thank goodness they did. Since then, this space has grown into something much bigger. It has become our very own anchor to the past, right in the centre of Armadale. More than 25,000 school students have connected with local history through its programs. Exhibitions continue to reflect how our community has changed over time. Importantly the City is super proud to play its part in making sure this work continues into the future. In a place like Armadale, where growth is constant, spaces like this matter. They keep a sense of identity grounded. They remind us where we’ve come from, and why that still matters. And they show what can happen when a community cares enough to hold onto its story. Here’s to the stories that shaped us, and the ones still unfolding. πŸŽ‚πŸΎπŸ₯‚ For more info on our open day celebration or if you just want to come and take a stroll down memory lane ... https://buff.ly/uYZYZJ4
