“We believe it is our job to facilitate high-quality research while also considering ethical perspectives. We want to learn from our researchers about their research so that we can solve ethical challenges together.” Jannik Zeiser and Thorsten Helfer are the driving force behind the Research Ethics Office at CISPA. For two years now, the two philosophers have been building their portfolio, constantly adding new educational offers, projects, and services. Most recently, they helped establish CISPA’s own Research Ethics Review Board. In our latest interview, they talk about their academic roots in philosophy, their role and remit at the Research Ethics Office, and the joys and challenges of applied ethics.
