Cirrus Therapeutics is pleased to welcome Meihua Ju, PhD, Vice President of Translational Research, to the team. A seasoned leader in ocular drug discovery and development, Meihua brings more than 20 years of experience advancing therapies across gene therapy, RNA therapeutics, antibodies, small molecules, and translational ophthalmology. Meihua’s experience spans the full arc of ophthalmic development, from target validation and preclinical strategy through regulatory interactions, IND-enabling work, and support for clinical-stage programs. She has made key contributions to AAV-mediated ocular gene therapy at NIGHTSTAR THERAPEUTICS PLC and Biogen, advancing programs from early research through translational development. Meihua has contributed to multiple IND filings and BLA submissions, and brings a rare combination of scientific depth, development discipline, and strategic insight. Her experiences and expertise strengthen Cirrus’ ability to translate differentiated ocular immunology into therapies with real potential for patients living with dry age-related macular degeneration and other chronic blinding diseases. “Losing vision is one of the greatest fears people have, and the opportunity to help slow vision loss and preserve quality of life is what drives me,” said Meihua. “I am excited about the differentiated science at Cirrus. We are taking a broader upstream approach to dry AMD, with the goal of developing therapies that can make a meaningful difference for patients before vision loss becomes irreversible.” Meihua joins Cirrus at an important stage of growth, and her leadership will be instrumental as we continue building a world-class team and advancing innovative therapies for aging-related vision disease. #vision #AMD #DryAMD #WetAMD #optometry #opthalmology #healthcare #science #STEM #biotech #biopharma #research #lifesciences
