What does it take to run one of Amazon’s largest fulfillment centers in New Jersey? Alessandro Carbone, GM of the West Deptford facility, compares it to being mayor of a small town. What makes his story stand out is how he got there. Nine years ago, Carbone was practicing law in Italy. He pursued an MBA in Switzerland and applied for Amazon’s Pathways program, a three-year track that builds operations leaders from the ground up. Today he oversees one of Amazon’s major robotics fulfillment centers in South Jersey. It’s a good example of what career growth in the logistics industry can actually look like.
