Europe’s sustainable blue economy will only be as strong as the skills behind it. From offshore renewables to sustainable tourism and marine data, the future of our seas depends on people with the right expertise, and the ability to adapt as the sector transforms. At the European Ocean Days 2026 this week in Brussels, we spoke to our EMFAF project partners about the blue skills of tomorrow. Many thanks to Dina Eparkhina EuroGOOS, European Global Ocean Observing System, Natalia Gonzalo Sea Teach Next_BlueGeneration Project, Maria Caldeiro FUNDAMAR - Fundación para la Pesca y Marisqueo FISATUR Project, Theocharis Tsoutsos, Prof. Dr. Technical University of Crete Stavroula Tournaki BLUE PORTS, Ana Rita Alves Lourenço APROXIMAR Cooperativa de Solidariedade Social Turning Blue and Massimo Bellavista BOUTCAR for having shared their views (and faces!)
