Welcome to the Year 2 Green Library Hubs! We are pleased to announce that #Redruth Libraries (Cornwall Council) Gateshead Libraries (Gateshead Council) and Leabharlainn nan Eilean Siar/Western Isles Libraries (Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar), Scotland have joined the Green Library Hubs project after a selection process that took place last month. The project is funded by the #NationalLottery Community Fund. Each Green Library Hub will: *Serve as a community space for environmental learning and events *Humanise the climate crisis through local relevance and engagement *Support partnerships with local groups, schools, and climate organisations *Equip library staff with environmental literacy and community engagement tools Project Manager, Eve Wilson said "We received some very strong applications and it's great to hear that some libraries will be applying again for year three funding and will also be engaging with Green Libraries Week 2026. Some libraries have indicated that they have used the process to help focus their priorities on this topic and are keen to still take their ideas forward."
