“When I first joined CIBC five years ago, my leader asked me, “What’s your brand?” That inspired me to reflect on what matters most to me, and how I wanted to be known. I realized that giving back is at the heart of it. CIBC has so many ways for team members to make an impact. We can sign up to volunteer and donate to causes that matter to us through our employee giving and volunteering program. We also have opportunities to come together with colleagues at events like the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure and CIBC Hockey Day for United Way. I was lucky to lead my team’s involvement in Hockey Day last year, building our fundraising team and playing hockey with others committed to a shared purpose. Since joining, my team has raised over $100,000, something I’m incredibly proud of, especially when I hear how it’s changed lives for the better.
