Christie’s is pleased to support the return of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair to New York, taking place from 13–17 May 2026. Now in its 12th edition, 1-54 continues to expand its presence in the city, now located in the West Chelsea Historic District. The fair will be held at the Starrett-Lehigh Building, 600 W. 27th Street, Manhattan, New York, a landmarked destination and premier hub for creative industries. The fair once again coincides with Frieze New York, held within walking distance of 1-54. Founded in 2013 by Touria El Glaoui, 1-54 is the first and only international art fair dedicated to contemporary African art. With editions held annually in London, New York and Marrakech, the fair has established itself as a leading global platform for artists from Africa and its diaspora. Striving to foster a community of diverse perspectives, 1-54 brings together leading international galleries specialising in contemporary African art, alongside a dynamic programme of artist talks, panel discussions and Special Projects. https://lnkd.in/emRgbGGe
