Mother Maria Teresa Nuzzo In Ħamrun we find the beginning of a work of great value that emerged from the founding of the Sisters, Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. This congregation was established on November 21, 1903, in Ħamrun, when Teresa, together with eight other young women, began pastoral and educational work, particularly among the poorest children. With the help and initiative of her cousin, Enrico Nuzzo, a place was provided in Ħamrun, near the Church of Tas-Samra. This place was offered to Teresa to be used for education and for teaching Christian doctrine. It is worth noting that the foundress’s room has been preserved exactly as it was when she lived there. Today, this convent serves as a formation house for new sisters from abroad, as well as an educational school for children. -------- Madre Maria Tereza Nuzzo Fil- Ħamrun insibu l-bidu ta’ opra ta’ valur kbir li ħarġet mit-twaqqif tas-Sorijiet Ulied il-Qalb ta’ Ġesù. Din il-kongregazzjoni twaqqfet fil-21 ta’ Novembru 1903 fil- Ħamrun meta Teresa, flimkien ma’ tmien tfajliet oħra, bdiet ħidma pastorali u edukattiva b’mod partikolari fost it-tfal l-aktar foqra. Bl-għajnuna u fuq inizjattiva tal-kuġin tagħha, Enrico Nuzzo, ġie provdut post fil-Ħamrun, maġeb il-Knisja tas-Samra. Dan il-post ġie offrut lil Teresa sabiex jintuża bħala post għall-edukazzjoni u għat-tagħlim tad-duttrina Nisranija. Ta’ min jinnotana li l-kamra tal-fundatriċi għadha miżmuma l-istess kif kienet meta kienet tgħix fiha. Illum il-ġurnata, dan il-kunvent iservi bħala dar ta’ formazzjoni għal sorijiet ġodda, minn pajjiżi barranin, kif ukoll bħala skola edukattiva għat-tfal.
