Looks like you ordered Harvey Specter from Wish. My relationship with AI is the same as my relationship with Excel. I do love AI and GenAI. I do love Excel (and actually sometimes use it). I hate how many people use AI and Excel. My new special hatred: "Cheap AI generated pictures of people I personally know" Most of them look like fresh from the nip/tuck nightmare gallery. No wrinkles. no scars, no flaws. No soul! All fillers. All highlights. All beauty. All fake! Just for demonstration I created a profile picture for myself via the "ProfilePhoto" App in Canva. Hell it looks like someone ordered Harvey Specter from Suits at wish. When Julian Schmitt and I drafted the pictures for our legendary Tekken action at Data:unplugged we also gave GenAI a try. That crazy thug with a staysafe-shirt also somehow should look like I do. Well I am not into cheap copies from average tools. But this is what you get when you use off-the-shelf AI tools. The best average. You want to be average? Mediocre? Exchangeable? Then go for it. Make it cheaper, faster more. If you were below average AI is your shortcut to catch up. If you are above average or want to play there: You better put in some f***ing effort. This is why for pictures I chose to work with Franz Schepers. Yes we also use some AI in the background: Filters or putting in elements. But apart from that it's human creativity, good light, great camera and a ton of fun. I'd rather have Frank Stadler ask me if I only have three shirts, than people ask me when my last visit at the surgeon was. Not average! Just authentic! So what do you want people to remember you for? Cheap fake botox-like standard AI pictures? Or an authentic human being?
