February marked a personal turning point in my professional journey. A task that seemed unsolvable at first glance – on top of my line responsibilities. A topic that could not afford to fail. Tight timelines, maximum pressure – and the conviction that there was only one right way: build real product teams instead of managing classically. Working cross-functionally means breaking comfort zones – and not everyone believes in it before they've experienced it. The team proved me wrong in the best possible way. Colleagues from business units, IT and our parent company stopped working alongside each other – and started thinking together. An experienced agile coach created the cohesion that no process in the world can replace. And a data infrastructure that we have built over years held up exactly when it mattered most. The role as Head of IT Technology was to set the framework, make the right decision early – and then consistently place trust in the teams and clear obstacles out of the way. Out of crisis mode, a product team was born. One that knows where it wants to go – and will now show what it is made of. To everyone who was part of this journey: this is your success.
