Today, the people of Stalybridge in Greater Manchester (“some town he was a Mayor of”🙄) shone in a spectacular way, celebrating 50 years of carnival. A mill town that treasures community and refuses to tolerate inequality and extremism - this satellite town of the great city of Manchester showed today just what community cohesion is, coming together and celebrating culture, music, dance and the arts. There was no one upmanship or loud mouth proclamations, just pure unadulterated joy and celebration. Be proud ‘Bridgers - you nailed it! On a personal note, I was immensely proud of my wife and son, drumming with the most amazing tribe of good ‘un’s you’ll ever have the privilege to meet… Global Grooves #Blocco And Harvey, you were sensational! ❤️🙏
