Business Development at Leidos UK
Throughout my time in the Army Reserve, my employers have been supportive of my activities in their own different ways. The #FCDO encouraged it without question, recognising the personal development opportunities, and they went above and beyond when I mobilised for Op HERRICK. I was more of an edge-case at #CambridgeConsultants; as the only Reservist in their employment they were curious but non-committal at first, which morphed into flexibility once I demonstrated how they were benefitting from the extra skills and experiences I was gaining. And, while I am in my last few days of employment at #Leidos, they have been exceptional in their support as befits a MOD Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award holder. But that is a personal journey, and times change. The need for the partnership between Regular and Reserve Armed Forces, the Civil Service and broader society to grow and deliver more is, for me, one of the few ways that the UK can respond to the maelstrom of internal and external pressures that it now faces.
