Russian Sunday TV news features the controversial film "Citizen Vigilante." This film, promoted by Elon Musk, features Armie Hammer as an ethnic avenger who delivers justice to dark-skinned migrants and corrupt bureaucrats in Europe. At first glance, this film fits in well with Kremlin propaganda campaigns, which warn that non-white migrants are destroying European culture. The problem for the Kremlin is that Russia has its own issues with extreme ethno-nationalism. Living in Russia, in the late 90s and early 2000s, I often ran into neo-Nazis in St. Petersburg and Moscow. They got so out of hand that African and Asian students were scared to go out at night.
